deleting vista

i installed a clean copy of vista on my pc. it previously had windows xp, is there any way i can delete windows vista and get windows xp back, i do not need to keep any files, it is all on one partition. if i were to format the drive, can i get a windows xp setup cd for free. plz help i just need normal windows xp back

You cannot delete an operating system. You need to do a clean install using your original XP cd. If you don't have one, you need to buy a new one--no free disks. Installing a beta OS without your original operating system disk was a really bad move. If you are still under manufacturer's warranty, ask them for your xp disk.

If it was pre installed on your system . You should be able to get another copy.
